style
Our style of yoga is not defined by a set sequence (like in Ashtanga), special equipment (like in Aerial Yoga) or a specific room temperature (Hot Yoga 🥵). Instead, we live, study and teach based on 10 core principles.
1.
Yoga = Movement × Wisdom
Yoga is more than a workout. And it's more than wise words from dusty old scriptures. It's philosophy in action — embodied wisdom, movement with meaning. We believe yoga becomes truly life-changing when modern movement science merges with ancient yogic wisdom. That's the foundation everything we do is built on.
2.
Every Body Is Unique
Human beings are not just unique on the outside, but on the inside too. Our abilities, dispositions, motivations, and even our bones can look completely different from one person to the next. That's why one-size-fits-all style cues don't work. Movement Wisdom Yoga respects your uniqueness.
3.
But Every Thing Is One
Underneath our differences, we're all One — part of the same mysterious and yet undeniable universal energy, and more connected than we think. Our yoga helps you experience this deep connection, not just understand it theoretically.
4.
Middle Path
Humans are both material and spirit. Half real, half illusion. Half in, half out. The extremes will always pull us apart. That's why we're committed to the Middle Path — not as a compromise, but as one of yoga's most powerful and practical teachings.
5.
We Don't Do Fitness
We believe yoga is the most powerful practice ever invented. And we love it. We're not traditionalists. But as the mainstream yoga drifts ever further towards fitness, Movement Wisdom is committed to offer authenitc yoga experiences.
6.
Our Yoga Is Not Religious
Yes, yoga is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. But yoga demands no belief, no doctrine, and no conversion. We treat yoga simply as an invitation to practice, to experiment, and explore your own beliefs.
7.
Be Your Own Guru
The highest purpose of a teacher is to make themselves unnecessary. Our job is to give students the knowledge, the tools, and the inner confidence to trust their own experience — on the mat and in life. We don't want followers. We want people who have found their own way.
8.
Safety First & Fun Too
Safety is the non-negotiable foundation of every yoga class. A deep understanding of the human body, medical conditions, and individual needs must be central to any serious yoga education. At the same time, we believe safety alone is not enough. We strive to make our classes accessible and challenging, safe and expansive, rigorous and joyful.
9.
Props Rule!
Props have a pretty bad reputation in the yoga world. But we love them. We believe they are tools of intelligence, not symbols of weakness. That's why at Movement Wisdom, we use props freely, and in all kinds of creative ways.
10.
Share The Power
The world needs more well-educated and ambitious yoga teachers. And we strive to empower our students to become not just stretching instructors, but yoga professionals who can create classes that actually change lives.
