Many share that they've landed teaching jobs immediately after graduation, started successful yoga businesses, or combined yoga with their existing careers in unique ways.

Can I get sample classes to try the course?

Absolutely, and we highly recommend it! The easiest way is to sign up for our YTT Preview where you can access several classes from the training before signing up.

Who can take this course?

Is this course beginner friendly?

Yes, the Movement Wisdom YTT is designed to be accessible for practitioners at all levels.

I'm an advanced practitioner. Will I learn anything new?

Definitely. Even if you've been practicing for many years and/or have taken other yoga trainings, the Movement Wisdom approach offers unique perspectives and cutting-edge information that will likely transform how you practice yoga.

Do I need to be fit and flexible to take this course?

Not at all. Our students come with a wide range of physical abilities and body types. The course teaches modifications for all body types and emphasizes that yoga is about connecting with yourself where you are, not performing "perfect" poses. What matters most is your passion, motivation, and willingness to learn.

I have health issues. Can I still join?

Yes, as long as you have clearance from your doctor. We're happy to provide detailed personal advice on how to modify your asana practice depending on your exact condition. In the past, we have had students with injuries and medical conditions like these successfully and joyfully complete the course: - carpal tunnel syndrome - scoliosis - hypermobility - high blood pressure - low blood pressure - autoimmune diseases - arthritis -joint replacements - chronic pain - slipped and herniated discs - cancer

Can I join while pregnant?

Yes, you can! We provide a detailed guide on how to modify your practice safely during pregnancy. The guide outlines specific modifications for each trimester, including poses and breathwork practices to avoid. Fun fact: Jess actually filmed many of the classes in this training while pregnant with her second child! Once you enroll, we can schedule a call to discuss any specific concerns you might have.

Common concerns

I don't live in the US. Is this a problem?

No. We have had students from almost 60 countries join the training. Our teaching practices are scheduled with various time zones in mind (everything between UTC -9 and UTC +2 is easy). If you're in the Middle East, Asia, or Oceania you may need to join sessions very early or very late. But so far it's always worked out.

Do yoga teachers actually make money?

Yup, and especially the good ones. If you are genuinely passionate about yoga and you get a solid education, you can make yoga a longterm career or a lucrative part time job.

What if I don't want to teach yoga professionally?

No problem. About 25% of our students take the training with no intention of teaching professionally. Many people join to deepen their own practice, understand the philosophy behind yoga, improve their alignment, or embark on a journey of personal growth. The course offers tremendous value for passionate practitioners who want to expand their knowledge, regardless of teaching aspirations.

Can I really learn to teach yoga online?

Yes! We've always been huge fans of in-person yoga experiences. But we are 100% convinced that a well-designed and thoroughly prepared online YTT (like the one you're looking at) is actually the best option for anyone who values the quality of their education.

English is not my first language ...

No problem. If you can understand the contents of this page, you'll be fine. To make sure that you can understand Jess well, we recommend that you sign up for our course preview and watch the sample classes.

I'm extremely busy ...

That's okay. You can complete the program on your own schedule and graduate whenever you're ready.

Is this course religious?

Nope. We think of yoga as a practice that can complement any faith or secular worldview. You will not be asked to believe anything. Think of the course as a bouquet of invitations to broaden your horizons.

Essential vs. Premium

What's the difference between Essential and Premium?

Essential and Premium are your two options to join the Movement Wisdom 200 Hour YTT. Essential contains the complete teacher training (Yoga Alliance certified). Premium includes a set of upgrades and two bonus courses. The Essential version of our 200 hour training already goes beyond what most other yoga teacher training programs include. So you absolutely don't need the Premium package. But you should consider to join Premium, because it includes a pretty massive bundle of bonuses that are worth more than $2,500 ... and you only pay $300 when you sign up for Premium.

What's the Seniors Yoga Specialist Certification?

The Seniors Yoga Specialist is a 40-hour certification program that trains you to confidently teach yoga to students 65 and older—the fastest-growing and most underserved demographic in yoga. You'll learn 5 different senior yoga styles (including 2 you can't learn anywhere else), master step-by-step cues and modifications for students with varying abilities (from severely limited to top fit), and gain expertise in teaching breathwork, meditation, and Yoga Nidra to seniors. Seniors classes typically command higher rates than general classes, and there's huge demand with very few qualified teachers. This program counts for 40 Yoga Alliance Continuing Education credits.

What's Healthy Mama, Happy Baby?

Healthy Mama, Happy Baby is a pre- and postnatal yoga program designed for teachers who want to help their pregnant students maintain or build a safe, supportive yoga practice during pregnancy. It includes 33+ yoga classes, 9 meditation sessions, and bonus courses—all specifically designed for the changing needs of pregnancy. This is a library of practices (not a teaching certification). You get lifetime access plus any new classes we add at no extra cost.

Can I also buy the upgrades separately?

Yes, all training upgrades (from the paper manual to the additional teaching practice sessions) can be purchased individually after enrollment. The bonus programs for seniors and pregnant students can also be purchased independent of the 200 Hour training.

Going through the training

How is the course structured

The Movement Wisdom YTT is divided into 16 equal chapters. Each covers approximately 12-13 hours of content. Instead of learning the different topics in isolation (first anatomy, then philosophy, etc.), each chapter contains a mix of elements from different modules. This integrated approach helps see how all aspects of yoga work together. Think of your learning journey as a flower that unfolds bit by bit.

How do the teaching practice sessions work?

Teaching practice sessions take place in small groups on Zoom. It's a safe, supportive and joyful environment that encourages you to expand your comofort zone and build teaching skills. To graduate, you need to attend 10 teaching practices.

You'll receive several types of personalized feedback: - Teaching Practice Feedback: After every teaching practice, you'll get guidance on your instruction from a Movement Wisdom mentor - Question Responses: Lead teacher Jess answers student questions with personal videos - Mentor Support: Every student is assigned a dedicated mentor who is available for questions and concerns - Empowerment Reviews: Short quizzes that ensure you've grasped the key concepts from each chapter - Asana Selfies: We also offer a training upgrade that allows you to hand in photos of you in 30 key poses. You'll get detailed personal feedback from a Movement Wisdom mentor.

There is no mandatory reading. We do provide a list of highly recommended books that complement the training, but purchasing these is optional and not necessary to successfully complete the program.

How long do I have to complete the course?

There is no time limit. You can complete the training in as little as 3 months or take 3 years if needed.

After Graduation

Will I be able to teach after completing this course?

Yes! The Movement Wisdom YTT is specifically designed to prepare you to teach confidently right after graduation. You'll start to practice right away, receive constructive feedback every time, and develop the skills needed to lead safe, effective classes in four different yoga styles. Many of our graduates start teaching professionally immediately after completing the program.

The Yoga Alliance is an international non-profit group that represents and supports both yoga teachers and the yoga industry. They set the industry standards for yoga teacher trainings. Many studios require teachers to be Yoga Alliance certified in order to get hired.

What kind of support do I receive after graduation?
